Discover Nosy Be Island

Nosy Be literally means "Great Isle". It is situated in the northwest coasts of Madagascar, between the Mozambique Channel and the Indian Ocean. Nosy Be has 320 Km² surface and the principal town named Hell-Ville is located in the south side of the island.


Nosy Be is a volcanic town, it represents one of the most visited tourist places in Madagascar, surely because of its luxuriant flora, wonderful beaches, and especially its exotic landscapes, complementing by smiling and warm welcoming people.
If one day, you happen to pass in Nosy Be, do not miss to visit Hell-Ville town and its houses which have witnessed the colonial era, but also its port which is the biggest of the island. There is the Oceanographic Museum, too. It shows the local marine animal lives and flora, varieties of corals and seashells, and also local fishing techniques. Then, the Amatolaoka beach is the best starting point for a day trip. This place offers lots of entertaining attractions, days and nights, and has some restaurants, car or moto rental agencies, bars, clubs and theaters.
Many other remarkable sites can be discovered there, like the nature reserve of Lokobé, perfect for unforgettable walking or riding moments, and the beautiful beach of Andilana in the north-west of the island which has numerous hotel structures.
Nosy Be does not lack of activities and hobbies, you just have a wide choice between golf, horse riding, canoe kayak, scuba diving, fishing sport and so on.
As far as the accomodations are concerned, differents choices are available such as cheap or luxury hotels, guest houses and seasonal furnished rentals. The pricing is very interesting and it is better to book in advance, especially during high season.
Now about the weather, very pleasant with the temperatures reaching 27 to 32°C throughout the year. Raining season is only in February and Mars. Although, the perfect time for holidays in Nosy Be is during spring and autumn, temperatures are pretty cool and the sun always shines
