Madeira
is a Portuguese island and belongs to the archipelago of the same
name which. The island is also known as The
Pearl of the Atlantic with its green
paradise of lush mountains. Madeira offers a number of activites and
has much more to be explored.

Landscape
The landscape of the island
aims to be particularly irregular : steep-sided
valleys, lofty peaks and abysses. The southern coast is hot
and sunny, in contrary of the north coast which is colder and wetter.
Also, the shores are craggy and have sandy beaches hardly exist on
the island. However, small fishing ports are settled in creeks nested
between two cliffs.

Adventures
The island of Madeira is also
considered to be the paradise of the walkers and hikers. They
can easily fulfill their passion thanks to the numerous pathways
cleverly arranged on the island. Some parts of the hinterland
are still wild and accessible only on foot. And for those who fear
the broken ways of the mountains, it is possible to border the levada
channels, they allow them to walk at the heart of the island without
ever being submitted to the uneven roads.
Funchal
or Fennel, the Town of Special Culture
The
capital of Madeira is Funchal, a city of about 100 000 inhabitants
which has a quite unique culture. There, they can visit monuments
like Sé Cathedral, built in the 15th
century. There are also museums like
the Quinta das Cruzes museum. Not mention the different parks and
gardens of the town. The capital relies on tourism but also kept an
intimate bond with
nature.

to Go to Madeira?
Situated
just above the Cancer Tropic, Madeira island has a temperate climate
all over the year. Temperatures are always around 25°
C in summer, but the winter remains very soft, temperatures average
20° C. Thus, travellers can go ti Madeira whenever the want and can.
